About Us

Adam Richard

Director

Adam has been cutting hair for well over a decade and began his career by taking an apprenticeship in Soho, London’s vibrant west end. He quickly developed a passion for his craft and honed his skills specialising in traditional scissor cutting techniques and the art of hot towel shaving having been taught by a team of award winning barbers. In his time in Soho Adam build up a wide range of clients from all walks of life including some theatre performers, film & television actors and some well known sports personalities.

After leaving Central London he then went on to co-run a barbershop in Greenwich, South East London where he spent years helping to build a very successful and busy salon that was a hit with the locals.

The time came when Adam decided to leave London entirely in order to move closer to his immediate family and take on a new challenge of managing a small team of Barbers in a well established barbershop in the charming cathedral city of Chichester where he quickly built up a large client base and amassed hundreds of five star reviews.

Four years after moving to Chichester and driven by his passion and armed with years of experience, Adam finally took the leap and opened his own barbershop. Every aspect of No.40 South Street reflects his dedication to the craft and his commitment to providing a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for all customers. From the carefully curated décor to the meticulously trained team of barbers, every detail has been carefully considered to ensure an exceptional experience for each client who walks through our doors.

Josh Moreland

Junior Barber - 4 years experience

Josh started his Barbering journey whilst still in school by cutting friends and family members hair at home due to taking a keen interest in the Barbering industry having been inspired by his local barbers in the small seaside town of Selsey.

He decided once he'd left school to go on to study Barbering at Chichester college where he achieved his NVQ LV2 which enabled him to look for work in the local area and landed himself a job in a barbershop in North Chichester under the watchful eye of our director, Adam Richard.

With a fantastic work ethic, passion for the craft and a keen eye and ear for learning, Josh honed his skills even further and is now well on his way to becoming a first class barber and is constantly taking on further training to level up his skills.

Josh is extremely personable and gets on with everyone, especially the younger crowd.
